At the Zhiguang Energy Storage Forum held during the 16th China International Energy Storage Conference (CIES 2026), Hangzhou Zhiguang Yichuang Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zhiguang Yichuang”) launched its new multi-scenario mobile energy storage solution. It is designed to provide lightweight and flexible power support for disaster response, green energy production, and grid regulation, making it key flexible resource for emergency power supply in new power systems.

Li Yanan, Solutions Director at Zhiguang Yichuang, noted that industry forecasts project mobile energy storage shipments to reach 3.5 GWh in 2026, representing yearly growth of over 80%. The market is expected to reach 91.7 GWh with a two-year compound annual growth rate of 127.2%. Pilot peak-shaving compensation mechanisms have also been introduced across 22 provinces and cities, providing an increasingly clear path towards commercialization. The system creates new opportunities for the large-scale commercialization of mobile energy storage through four key features:

Large capacity and Flexible Configuration: Each vehicle offers a maximum capacity of 5 MWh with modular configuration ranging from 500 to 5,000 kWh. The system operates reliably across a wide temperature range of -30 °C to 60 °C so it is able to provide stable and continuous power output.

Automotive-Grade Safety: Built to automotive-grade standards, the system incorporates a thermal runaway early-warning system that can identify potential battery risks up to 72 hours in advance. The complete system features IP54 protection along with multiple layers of electrical and thermal protection to enhance safety in high-humidity and other challenging environments.

Integrated Deployment: The solution significantly reduces the traditional 6–12 month construction timeline associated with fixed energy storage systems. Its five major subsystems are highly integrated into a single vehicle. Its design enables rapid connection upon arrival at the site with Millisecond-level power switching to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Intelligent Digital Operations and Maintenance: An integrated Energy Management System (EMS) provides 24/7 real-time monitoring and supports OTA upgrades, which can reduce operations and maintenance costs by up to 60%.

Li Yanan also introduced the application of Zhiguang Yichuang’s mobile energy storage system at an oil drilling project in Karamay, Xinjiang, where a 3.3 MWh system has provided stable power in demanding outdoor conditions. From deserts and high-altitude areas to commercial charging and battery-swapping, Zhiguang Yichuang’s energy storage solution is unbound by location, deployment time, and capacity constraints.

Looking ahead, Zhiguang Yichuang will continue to develop lightweight, highly flexible energy storage equipment and support the development of a new energy storage ecosystem that is “mobile, dispatchable, and commercially viable.” By doing so, the company aims to help drive the energy storage industry beyond fixed, stationary applications toward a new era of fully dispatchable mobile energy storage.
