On January 15, Wang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Meizhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Meizhou City, led a delegation to Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhiguang Electric”) for a research visit and exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Li Yongxi, Chairman of Zhiguang Electric, Cao Chengfeng, Vice President, and other company executives.

The delegation first toured the company’s exhibition hall, gaining in-depth insights into Zhiguang Electric’s cutting-edge innovations and industrial applications in energy technologies. The delegation highly recognized the company’s strong technological foundations, comprehensive product portfolio, and solid project achievements.

During the symposium, Li Yongxi extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed sincere gratitude to the Meizhou municipal government and the Pingyuan County authorities for their long-standing support. He noted that since its establishment, Zhiguang Electric has been firmly rooted in power electronics technology and guided by a long-term innovation philosophy, continuously advancing in the energy technology sector. The company has built a comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions covering generation-side, grid-side, and user-side scenarios, delivering notable results in renewable energy integration, energy storage, and integrated energy services.

Li emphasized that the smooth progress of the new intelligent standalone energy storage project under construction in Pingyuan, Meizhou—from planning alignment and approvals to project commencement—has been made possible by strong coordination and policy support from both municipal and county-level governments. This cooperation fully reflects Meizhou’s highly efficient and high-quality government services.

Wang Hui spoke highly of Zhiguang Electric’s technological innovation capabilities, efficient project delivery, and contributions to Meizhou’s development. He stated that Meizhou is committed to building a first-class business environment characterized by high administrative efficiency and optimized approval processes. The municipal Party committee and government will strongly support high-quality industrial projects, including Zhiguang’s Pingyuan project. He expressed the hope that Zhiguang Electric will deploy more innovative technologies and projects in Meizhou, with the city continuing to provide robust policy support to achieve mutually beneficial development for both the locality and the enterprise.

A key highlight of the visit was the Meizhou Pingyuan New Intelligent Standalone Energy Storage Project—the first large-scale standalone energy storage power station in Meizhou’s power grid at the 220 kV voltage level. The project will be constructed in two phases, each with a capacity of 100 MW/200 MWh. It adopts Zhiguang Electric’s independently developed cascaded high-voltage energy storage technology and features four core strengths: simplified station architecture, high efficiency and economic performance, strong grid-forming capability, and enhanced safety. As a critical pillar for building a new power system, the successful implementation of the project injects sustained momentum into Meizhou’s energy transition and upgrade, while delivering significant regulation benefits and safety assurance to the local power market. Its mature implementation model and reliable technical solutions also lay a solid foundation for deeper government–enterprise cooperation and the deployment of more high-quality energy projects.

Looking ahead, Zhiguang Electric stated that it will continue to increase R&D investment and deepen its industrial布局 in new-type energy storage and related fields, delivering more technologically advanced and safe “Zhiguang Solutions” to support high-quality local economic and social development. The company will also actively contribute to Guangdong Province’s “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, Ten Thousand Villages” high-quality development initiative and the advancement of the “Green and Beautiful Guangdong” ecological program.
