Recently, the shortlist results for China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) 2026 centralized procurement project for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage systems (framework agreement with committed volumes) were officially announced.

Leveraging its strong technological capabilities and mature system integration expertise, Zhiguang Energy Storage successfully ranked No.1 in both Lot 1 and Lot 3, while also being shortlisted across all eight bidding lots, making the company one of the core suppliers in this major state-owned enterprise procurement project.

Project Overview: A High-Standard Central SOE Energy Storage Procurement

CNPC’s annual energy storage framework procurement is regarded as one of the flagship projects among China’s central state- owned energy enterprises in 2026, featuring:

· Total scale: 385MW / 772.5MWh

· Eight bidding lots covering six major oilfields and twelve project regions

· Mainstream storage configurations including 0.5C/2h and 0.33C/3h systems

· Strict qualification requirements, including large-format battery cell specifications and dual qualification access for both battery cells and PCS suppliers

The tender attracted participation from 32 companies across the industry. Following multiple rounds of qualification reviews and comprehensive evaluations, only seven leading enterprises were ultimately shortlisted, reflecting the intense level of competition within the energy storage sector.

Outstanding Performance with Leading Comprehensive Scores

The evaluation adopted a comprehensive scoring mechanism weighted equally between technical capability (50%) and commercial performance (50%). Zhiguang Energy Storage delivered an outstanding performance, consistently ranking among the top scorers across all bidding lots, with its technical strength receiving strong recognition from the central SOE evaluator.

Behind these strong results lies the company’s long-term focus on cascaded high-voltage, large-capacity energy storage technologies. Zhiguang Energy Storage has independently developed key technologies including PCS, EMS energy management systems, liquid-cooled energy storage integration, and grid-forming control technologies.

These solutions are well-suited for complex application scenarios such as isolated oilfield microgrids, renewable energy integration, grid peak shaving, and energy efficiency optimization, fully meeting PetroChina’s requirements for high reliability, safety, and long-term operational stability in oilfield-side energy storage applications.

Strengthening Presence in the Central SOE Market

Focusing on new power systems and large-scale energy storage applications, Zhiguang Energy Storage remains committed to independent technology innovation, in-house product development, and self-invested project construction. The company has delivered multiple benchmark projects across power grids, central energy enterprises, renewable power stations, and commercial & industrial sectors.

Its successful inclusion across all bidding lots in PetroChina’s 2026 energy storage procurement not only demonstrates strong recognition of the company’s product performance, system safety, delivery capability, and O&M service capacity, but also further solidifies Zhiguang Energy Storage’s position within the supply chain ecosystem of China’s major energy SOEs.

Looking Ahead: Empowering the Dual-Carbon Future

Moving forward, Zhiguang Energy Storage will fully dedicate itself to technical coordination, solution optimization, and project delivery assurance to ensure the high-standard execution of the PetroChina procurement projects.

At the same time, the company will continue increasing investment in core energy storage technologies, further advancing cascaded high-voltage, large-capacity energy storage solutions, while expanding cooperation with central SOEs, local state-owned enterprises, and major renewable energy customers.

Driven by technological innovation, Zhiguang Energy Storage remains committed to supporting China’s energy transition and contributing to the country’s “Dual Carbon” goals and the development of next-generation power systems.
