Zhiguang Electric Lands Three Mining Microgrid Projects in Africa, Advancing Commercialization of Overseas Energy Storage Strategy

Recently, Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd. (“Zhiguang Electric”) officially signed cooperation agreements with Vinmart Group of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for three solar-storage-diesel microgrid projects. This marks a breakthrough in the strategic partnership between the two parties, achieved just one month after Vinmart’s global executive team visited Zhiguang Electric’s headquarters.


The three initial projects are located in major mining areas in the DRC and will adopt Zhiguang Electric’s customized containerized energy storage solutions.

Zhiguang Electric’s containerized energy storage system features an integrated, all-in-one design, efficiently combining key intelligent control platforms such as PCS, BMS, and EMS. The system is fully pre-installed, enabling rapid on-site deployment and precise data monitoring and dispatch, making it highly suitable for the logistical and construction conditions commonly found in African mining regions. With multiple layers of safety protection and strong environmental adaptability, the system is designed to operate reliably under high temperatures, heavy dust, and other harsh mining conditions. It also supports parallel operation and flexible expansion, leaving ample room for future capacity upgrades.


As one of the world’s most resource-rich regions for copper and cobalt, the DRC faces complex challenges in ensuring reliable power supply for mining operations. Zhiguang Electric’s energy storage systems will operate in synergy with solar PV and diesel generators, forming an integrated solar-storage-diesel microgrid architecture that delivers continuous and stable power to critical mining loads.
