To deepen industry-education collaboration, drive innovation in talent development, and prepare the next generation of energy technology professionals for the evolving needs of new power systems and China’s “Dual Carbon” goals, nearly 350 faculty members and students from the School of Electric Power Engineering at South China University of Technology (SCUT) visited Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhiguang Electric) on July 2 for an academic and industrial exchange.

The event focused on innovation in digital energy technologies and the application of integrated energy systems. Faculty and students toured the company’s corporate showroom and intelligent manufacturing production facilities, where Zhiguang Electric showcased its core products and technological solutions for next-generation power systems. The visit highlighted the company’s continued commitment to innovation in support of China’s “Dual Carbon” goals.

Following the tour, technical experts from the Zhiguang Research Institute delivered a keynote presentation on "Integrated Photovoltaic–Energy Storage–Charging Systems and Intelligent Microgrid Energy Management Technologies." The presentation examined cutting-edge developments such as virtual power plants (VPPs), coordinated optimization of distributed energy resources, and AI-driven energy dispatch, providing an in-depth analysis of the technological evolution and practical applications of next-generation power systems.

Zhiguang Electric has long been committed to building platforms for university and industry collaboration through joint research projects, engineering practice programs, and talent development initiatives. Through these efforts, Zhiguang Electric not only continues to strengthen the integration of the education, talent, and industrial chains but also provides valuable teaching and practical training opportunities for the School of Electric Power Engineering at South China University of Technology (SCUT).

Looking ahead, Zhiguang Electric will continue to advance the development of new power systems in alignment with China's Dual Carbon strategy by expanding its technological capabilities across areas such as energy storage systems, intelligent microgrids, integrated energy services, and virtual power plants. At the same time, the company will further strengthen innovation and talent development partnerships with universities, jointly cultivating high-caliber energy technology professionals equipped with both practical engineering skills and systems innovation capabilities, thereby providing sustained support for the development of a modern energy system that is clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient.
